Playsilks: A Must-Have Open-Ended Toy

It’s time for another installment of Things Worth Buying Thursday. Today it’s all about playsilks, specifically from Sarah’s Silks.

Playsilks are the MVP in our toy collection. Of course blocks are up there too, but if I had to pick just one toy that is a must-have, it’s playsilks. They’re about as open-ended as a toy can get. They show up in just about every type of play around our house- dramatic play, dress-up, small world play, movement play, and more!

I’ve seen my child transform her playsilks into water in a toy sink, a moat around a castle, a grassy pasture for animals, the ocean, an icy arctic playscape, the finishing touch on an ice castle, a fort, a cape, a headband, a flag, a blanket for a baby, a parachute, and the list could keep going!

They’re also my favorite type of room decor. A beautiful playmap or seek-and-find playsilk can be art on the wall, and then come down to be played with. When I need to wrap a gift for my child, I grab a playsilk and then I don’t have to waste money or time with wrapping paper, and it’s a more sustainable choice.

I always think I have enough playsilks and dress-ups, but somehow I keep acquiring more for our toy collection. The whimsical dress-ups are pure magic ✨ sweet strawberry and mushroom hats, magical starry capes and crowns, rainbow skirts and butterfly wings.

Maybe this turned into a love letter to Sarah’s Silks today! 💕 I just love their products. They bring so much joy and whimsy to my child’s play and our home! Sarah’s Silks playsilks and dress-ups are things worth buying!
